Worlds are being swallowed by darkness. Creatures called the Heartless steal the hearts of people and of worlds, and when a world falls, those lucky enough to survive wash up in Traverse Town, a quiet town of lamplit squares and shops that is always night. You are one of them. A few survivors, Leon, Yuffie, Aerith and Cid, are trying to fight back, and tonight a boy called Sora has arrived from a world of islands, carrying a giant key, while a duck and a dog in royal service search the town for him.
