Content & AI Policy
Effective: August 13, 2026
This page says plainly what the narrator will write, what it will not, and why those answers are different on the website and in the iOS app. We would rather you knew this before you subscribed than discovered it mid-story.
1. You are reading AI-generated fiction
Every line of narration on AnyWorld AI is generated by an artificial intelligence system in response to what you write. It is not written or reviewed by a human before you see it. Characters who appear to remember you are software recalling stored text, not people.
AI-generated writing can be wrong, invented, or inconsistent, and occasionally it will produce something you did not ask for and do not want. It is entertainment. It is not advice — not medical, not legal, not financial, not psychological — and it should not be relied on as fact. If a story stops being good for you, stop playing; if something in it worries you about your own safety, please talk to a real person.
This disclosure is also how we meet Article 50 of the EU AI Act, which from 2 August 2026 requires that people are told when they are interacting with an AI system and when content has been artificially generated.
2. Lines that never move
No setting, subscription, world, or phrasing unlocks these. They are listed in full in the Acceptable Use Policy, and the short version is: nothing sexual involving minors, nothing sexual involving animals, no usable instructions for mass-harm weapons, nothing sexual involving real identifiable people, and nothing that endorses or coordinates real-world atrocity.
3. Website: three settings
On anyworldgame.com the narrator writes at one of two levels, depending on your account.
- Default. Mature themes handled with restraint: fade to black for sex, implication rather than detail for graphic violence.
- Mature content enabled. Off by default. Turning it on requires confirming you are 18 or over. Once on, the narrator writes adult fiction fully and on the page, including sex between adult characters, and it will not refuse or soften a scene because it finds it uncomfortable. §2 still applies and always will.
You can change this any time in Settings, and turning it off takes effect on your next turn.
4. iOS app: the same account, a lower ceiling
The App Store does not permit explicit sexual content in apps, at any age rating. That is a platform rule we do not control and cannot opt out of, so the app is not simply the website in a wrapper:
- If you have never enabled mature content, the app writes at a level appropriate to its age rating. Stories can still be dark; the camera is more restrained than on the web.
- If you enabled mature content on the website, the app opens up considerably — violence, cruelty, addiction, despair and desire are all written fully — but sex itself stays off the page. That single boundary is the App Store's, not ours.
- The setting itself is not available inside the app. It lives in your account settings on the website, and the app follows whatever you chose there.
Your characters, worlds, memories and subscription are the same in both places. Only the ceiling on what gets written differs.
5. Age
You must be at least 13 to hold an account, and older where your country requires it. Mature content requires you to be 18 or over and to say so; we take you at your word, and we terminate accounts we find to have lied about it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email privacy@anyworldgame.com and we will delete it.
6. Moderation, honestly described
We would rather tell you exactly how this works than imply more than we do.
- The rules in §2 are enforced inside the system that generates narration itself, on every turn, everywhere.
- In the iOS app, an additional automated check runs over what you write and what the narrator produces.
- On the website there is no separate automated moderation layer. We removed it deliberately: it was wrong often enough to break real stories, and the rules in §2 are enforced where they actually hold. We rely on reports for the rest.
- Nothing you write is read by a human as a matter of course. Content is reviewed when it is reported, or when we are investigating a specific safety or legal issue.
7. Reporting something
In the app, use the report control on any passage of narration. Anywhere else, email safety@anyworldgame.com. Reports go to a real person, and we aim to respond within 3 business days — sooner where a minor may be involved. Reporting something never affects your own account.
8. Your writing stays yours
Your stories and custom worlds are private to your account. There is no public feed and no sharing between players. We do not use your stories to train AI models, our own or anyone else's. See the Privacy Policy for what is stored and for how long.
9. Changes
Posted here with a new effective date. If we ever change what the narrator will write for you, we will say so directly rather than quietly adjusting a paragraph.
