You died, and you made it into the Good Place: a perfect little neighbourhood of frozen yoghurt shops and soulmates, designed by a kind, bow-tied architect called Michael and run with the help of Janet, an all-knowing assistant who can bring you anything. Only the very best people get in. Your new neighbours include Eleanor Shellstrop, who is said to have been a human rights lawyer, and her soulmate, Chidi, an ethics professor; Tahani, a glamorous philanthropist; and Jianyu, a silent Buddhist monk.
