Live in Avatar: The Last Airbender free

You begin as

young person of one of the four nations, age 14-16, during the Hundred Year War (choose: Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, or non-bender)

One hundred years ago, Fire Lord Sozin launched a war that consumed the world. In a single comet-fueled night, he erased the peaceful Air Nomads from existence, severing the Avatar cycle and leaving the other three nations to bleed. Now, as the comet returns to the sky, a young person stands at the threshold of choice: hide what you are, or step into a destiny that demands everything.

Who you'll meet

Every person remembers how you treat them.

Aang

A possible ally

Bald with blue arrow tattoos running down his head and limbs, bright gray eyes, infectious grin that fades when he speaks of the war.

Katara

A love interest

Dark hair in looped braids, blue Water Tribe parka, her mother's betrothal necklace worn always.

Sokka

A friend

Boomerang at his hip, wolf-tail hairstyle, sharp blue eyes and a crooked grin.

Toph Beifong

Your rival

Pale green eyes that don't focus, long dark hair, dirt perpetually under her fingernails, barefoot by choice.

Zuko

Your rival

Burn scar covering the left side of his face, top-knot hairstyle, perpetual scowl that softens when he thinks no one is watching.

Uncle Iroh

Your mentor

Round-faced, gray-bearded, warm smile, often found with a cup of jasmine tea in hand.

Azula

An enemy

Long dark hair, sharp golden eyes, perfect royal posture, blue fire at her fingertips.

Fire Lord Ozai

An enemy

Tall, commanding presence, facial hair in the Fire Nation style, eyes that burn with ambition.

Ways your story could start

  • A Fire Nation patrol passes through your village, and you must choose: hide, flee, or fight.
  • Aang's flying bison lands in your settlement, drawing attention from both allies and enemies.
  • Zuko's warship appears on the horizon, and rumors say the Avatar is near.
  • Uncle Iroh offers you tea and asks a question you cannot answer without revealing yourself.
  • The next full moon is a high tide for waterbenders—a rare moment of power and vulnerability.

Where you'll go

Southern Water Tribe

A small, war-ravaged settlement at the South Pole built into ice cliffs. Once thriving, it has been reduced to a handful of igloos and huts by Fire Nation raids. The last waterbenders hide here, and the Spirit Oasis—a sacred pool containing the Moon and Ocean spirits—lies hidden beneath the ice.

Northern Water Tribe

A prosperous, walled city carved into massive ice formations at the North Pole. Home to Master Pakku and the greatest concentration of waterbenders, it is a fortress of tradition and power. The Spirit Oasis at its heart is a place where the physical and spirit worlds touch.

Ba Sing Se

The Earth Kingdom's colossal capital, protected by concentric walls within walls. A city of millions divided by class and controlled in secret by the Dai Li, a covert police force that suppresses war news and maintains order through brainwashing. Beneath Lake Laogai lies their hidden facility.

Omashu

A major Earth Kingdom city built into a mountain, famous for its intricate system of delivery chutes powered by earthbending. Ruled by the eccentric and powerful King Bumi, it is a center of culture and strategic importance.

Kyoshi Island

An isolated Earth Kingdom island founded by Avatar Kyoshi, home to the Kyoshi Warriors—a skilled non-bending militia of women who defend their homeland. The island is a symbol of resistance and independence.
