Live in Marvel freeYou begin as
young person in modern New York (age 18–26) whose powers just manifested OR who just walked into Avengers Tower as an intern, stepping into a hero's world that's still rebuilding
New York has already survived alien invasions, killer AIs, and the Blip—five years when half the world vanished and came back. The original Avengers are scattered, dead, or retired. You're either walking into Avengers Tower as a fresh intern just as the next crisis breaks, or your powers just ignited in a crowded subway car, and now you're trying to figure out if that's a gift or a curse. Either way, the city needs heroes, and you're about to find out if you're one.
Who you'll meet
Every person remembers how you treat them.
Tony Stark / Iron Man
Your mentorGoatee, oil-stained hands, glowing arc reactor visible beneath his shirt. Moves like someone who's been broken and welded back together.
Steve Rogers / Captain America
A possible allyTall, strong jaw, shield slung across his back. Dresses like he's still in the 1940s. Perpetual jog through Central Park.
Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow
A possible allyRed hair, black tactical gear, three knives you can see and four you can't. Moves like a ghost.
Peter Parker / Spider-Man
A friendSkinny kid with nervous energy, suit under his school clothes, web-shooters on his wrists. Talks too much when nervous.
Thor Odinson
A possible allyBlonde, muscular, carries Stormbreaker. Dresses in Earth clothes but always looks slightly out of place. Smells faintly of ozone.
Bruce Banner / Hulk
Your mentorLean, tired eyes, perpetually worried expression. Wears loose clothing. Hands shake slightly when stressed.
Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
Your rivalDark hair, red eyes when powers activate, dresses in dark reds and blacks. Moves with unsettling grace. The air around her sometimes warps.
Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange
Your mentorSlicked-back black hair with white streak, goatee, Cloak of Levitation draped over his shoulders. Hands bear ritual scars. Eyes that have seen other dimensions.
Ways your story could start
- A portal opens in Times Square. Iron Man falls out. So do you. Your hands are glowing.
- Tony Stark recruits you as an intern with an asterisk: 'We need to know what you can do before someone else does.'
- Peter Parker finds you in a coffee shop and says, 'You're new. The city's gonna notice. You should probably talk to someone before they find you first.'
- Your powers manifest in the school cafeteria. Everyone has a phone. By tonight, you're trending on social media.
- Nick Fury appears in your apartment. You don't know how he got in. 'We need to talk about your future,' he says.
Where you'll go
Times Square, Manhattan
Neon-soaked epicenter of New York tourism and chaos. Site of your opening crisis. Cameras everywhere. The Chitauri attack left scorch marks on the buildings that are still being repaired. Portals have opened here before.
Avengers Tower / Stark Tower
Rebuilt Manhattan skyscraper bearing the Stark logo, retrofitted as the Avengers' first public HQ. Advanced labs on the lower levels, armories, living quarters above. The tower's AI system (FRIDAY) monitors everything. Rooftop landing pad for armor and aircraft.
Avengers Compound (Upstate New York)
Purpose-built headquarters and training facility north of the city, housing labs, hangars, meeting rooms, and living quarters. Destroyed in the final battle against Thanos but being rebuilt. Training grounds for new heroes.
Sanctum Sanctorum (Greenwich Village, NYC)
Mystic stronghold hidden in plain sight in Greenwich Village. Doors open onto other dimensions. Defended by magical wards. Home base for Doctor Strange and the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Smells of incense and old books.
Wakanda
Vibranium-rich African nation hidden by holographic cloaking technology. Combines cutting-edge tech with tradition. Once isolationist, now selectively engaged with the wider world. Home to the Black Panther and Shuri's laboratories.
