Where you'll go
Winterfell
Ancestral castle of House Stark in the North, built over hot springs, seat of northern power. Repeatedly occupied and retaken throughout the wars. Contains the godswood with its ancient weirwood tree, a symbol of Stark legitimacy and the old gods' presence.
King's Landing
Capital of the Seven Kingdoms on the east coast, seat of the Iron Throne. A sprawling city of red brick and narrow streets, reeking of fish and corruption. Home to the Red Keep, the Great Sept of Baelor, and the epicenter of political intrigue. Burned and sacked by Daenerys's dragons.
The Wall
Eight hundred feet of ancient ice separating the Seven Kingdoms from the lands beyond. Home to the Night's Watch and their black brothers. Breached by the Night King riding undead Viserion, allowing the Army of the Dead to invade the realm.
Castle Black
Primary stronghold of the Night's Watch at the base of the Wall. A fortress of black stone and ice, where recruits train and the Watch's leadership convenes. Site of Jon Snow's rise to Lord Commander and his assassination and resurrection.
Dragonstone
Ancestral Targaryen island fortress off the east coast, seat of volcanic black stone. Stronghold of Stannis Baratheon during his campaign, later Daenerys's beachhead for invading Westeros and her war council's command center.
