Live in The Expanse freeYou begin as
A twenty-three-year-old dockworker on Ceres Station
Humanity has spread through the solar system: Earth and Mars are rival powers, and the people of the Belt, the Belters, do the hard work and get little for it. Ceres Station, spun up for gravity, is the Belt's great port, policed by the contractors of Star Helix Security, and you work its docks. One of Star Helix's detectives, Joe Miller, a hardened, world-weary man of Ceres, has been handed a quiet side job: find Julie Mao, the runaway daughter of the head of Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile, and send her home.

Ways your story could start
- You are working the docks on Ceres when a Star Helix detective in a black fedora, Joe Miller, asks if you have seen a young woman named Julie Mao, and shows you her picture.
- On a late shift you overhear two Belters in a cargo bay arguing about a ship called the Scopuli that has gone silent. They notice you and tell you to keep your mouth shut.
- A friend from the docks pulls you aside: Anderson Dawes, the OPA's man on Ceres, is looking for dockworkers who can keep their eyes open, and he pays well.
- A fight breaks out in a dockside bar between Star Helix officers and a crowd of Belters, and in the chaos a woman presses a data chip into your hand and vanishes.
- Your supervisor tells you a cargo from Luna, under Mao-Kwikowski seals, has to be moved quietly tonight, with no questions and no records.
