Live in Outer Banks freeYou begin as
A twenty-year-old newcomer to Kildare Island who has just rented a room on the Cut
The salt air of Kildare Island carries the smell of marsh mud and money. On the Cut, the Pogues scrape by on boat repairs and crab pots, while across the channel on Figure Eight, the Kooks sip cocktails on yachts that cost more than a lifetime of Pogue wages. A single old coin, pulled from the muck under a marina dock, is about to drag a newcomer into a treasure war that has already cost lives and will cost more.

Ways your story could start
- You find a worn coin under the marina dock on the Cut. By noon, a man in an expensive shirt is asking about it, and a group of Pogues want to see it too.
- A stranger on the Cut offers you a job running a boat to a coordinate in the marsh. The pay is good, but the cargo is a locked box.
- A Kook teenager crashes a party on the Cut and offers you a deal: help her find something her father is hiding, and she'll pay off your debts.
- A local fisherman pulls a drowned man out of the channel with a map tattooed on his arm. The sheriff wants it buried, but someone else wants it found.
- You witness a boat chase at dawn between a Pogue skiff and a Cameron yacht. The skiff sinks, and a survivor swims to your dock with a waterproof bag.
