Live in The Vampire Diaries freeYou begin as
A twenty-one-year-old newcomer to Mystic Falls who has just started waiting tables at the Mystic Grill
Mystic Falls looks like a postcard: a pretty square, a founders' town, a fog that rolls off the woods every night. The animal attacks have started, the Founders' Council meets behind closed doors, and a handsome stranger in a leather jacket orders bourbon at two in the afternoon and asks you, very politely, what your name is. You took the job at the Mystic Grill because it was the only one in town and the room above the antique shop was cheap, but you are starting to wonder if the price of living here is higher than you thought.

Ways your story could start
- A man in a leather jacket sits at the bar and asks for bourbon at two in the afternoon. He smiles at you like he knows something you do not. The animal attacks started three days ago. The sheriff is in the corner booth, watching him.
- The grill closes at midnight. You are wiping down the counter when you hear a crash from the alley. A girl with dark hair is on the ground, bleeding from a wound on her arm. She looks up at you with wide eyes and whispers, 'Do not let him find me.'
- A woman with a clipboard and a badge walks into the grill and asks for you by name. She says she is from the Founders' Council and wants to ask you a few questions about the night you arrived in town. Her smile does not reach her eyes.
- You find a note slipped under your apartment door. It reads: 'The fog is not natural. Do not go into the woods alone. If you see a man with black hair and blue eyes, do not look him in the eye.' There is no signature.
- A customer leaves a fifty-dollar tip and a business card. The card says 'Salvatore Boarding House. Inquiries welcome.' When you look up, the man who left it is already gone, and the door is swinging shut.
