Makochi is a town that remembers when Furin High School meant trouble. Now its students patrol the shopping streets, break up fights before they reach the shopkeepers, and answer every call for help with their fists. You have just taken a job at Café Pothos, a small place on the main drag where the coffee is strong and the customers wear uniforms with more patches than a military jacket. On your first shift, a scrawny first-year with two-toned hair and mismatched eyes starts a brawl outside the door, and the whole street comes out to watch.

Ways your story could start
- A fight breaks out in front of Café Pothos on your first shift. A scrawny first-year with two-toned hair is taking on three older students. Kotoha tells you not to get involved, but the whole street is watching. Do you stay behind the counter or step outside?
- A customer at the café leaves a note with a name and a time. Someone is being held by KEEL in the old warehouse district, and the note says Bofurin needs to know before nightfall. Kotoha is busy. The note is in your hand.
- A shopkeeper on the street asks you to deliver a package to Furin High School. When you arrive, a group of students is squaring off in the yard. A tall boy with headphones watches from the roof. No one has noticed you yet.
- A girl your age sits down at the counter and asks if you are new. She says her name is Kotoha and that the boy fighting outside is named Sakura. She warns you that Makochi is not a normal town. Then she smiles and asks if you can handle the lunch rush.
- A group of Shishitoren members walks into the café. They are loud, they are looking for someone, and they are not here for coffee. Kotoha is in the back. You are the only one at the counter.
