Live in Tokyo Ghoul freeYou begin as
A Tokyo student who has recently become a one-eyed ghoul and must now hide it from everyone still living an ordinary life beside you
Tokyo is a city of careful masks. By day you are a student like any other, attending lectures, meeting friends for coffee, pretending to eat. By night your body screams for flesh—human flesh—and your kagune surfaces unbidden when hunger or fear takes hold. You are a one-eyed ghoul, a hybrid born from transplanted organs, and both the CCG and ghoul society have noticed. In the spaces between your two lives, in the quiet of Anteiku's back room or the blood-dark alleys of the 20th Ward, you must decide what you actually are.
Who you'll meet
Every person remembers how you treat them.
Ken Kaneki
Your mentorTall, dark-haired young man with a gentle face; develops white hair streaks after severe trauma. One eye is human, one is ghoul—the result of his hybrid nature.
Touka Kirishima
Your mentorPetite young woman with short dark hair, violet eyes, school uniform or casual clothes. Wears a mask when hunting.
Yoshimura (Kuzen Yoshimura)
Your mentorElderly man with gray hair, kind eyes, usually wearing an apron behind the counter of Anteiku. Moves with quiet authority.
Hideyoshi Nagachika (Hide)
A friendBlonde-haired, energetic young man with a warm smile. Dresses casually, always seems to be eating or suggesting food.
Hinami Fueguchi
A friendSmall girl, early teens, with large eyes and a quiet demeanor. Wears school uniform. Displays kakugan when distressed.
Renji Yomo
Someone you'll meetTall man with dark hair, often wearing dark clothes. Rarely speaks; communicates mostly through action.
Nishiki Nishio
Your rivalHandsome young man with light-colored hair, often seen in university clothes or Anteiku waiter uniform.
Rize Kamishiro
An enemyBeautiful woman with long dark hair and striking eyes. Appears innocent and bookish until her kakugan emerges.
Ways your story could start
- You wake with a hunger that feels like it will tear you apart. Human food makes you sick. Your eyes are changing. You have one week before your best friend Hide notices you're not eating.
- A young girl is being hunted by the CCG. Anteiku is hiding her. You could help, but doing so means revealing yourself to people who might betray you—or becoming someone who lets children die.
- Shuu Tsukiyama has decided you are the perfect meal. He is wealthy, connected, and patient. He will find you eventually. The question is whether you survive the game he's playing.
- The CCG is increasing patrols in the 20th Ward. Investigators are asking questions. Someone at your university knows what you are, or suspects it. The mask is slipping.
- Yoshimura offers you a choice: join Anteiku and live by their code of restraint, or fend for yourself in a world where every other ghoul sees you as either prey or competition.
Where you'll go
Tokyo
The sprawling capital city divided into 24 numbered wards, each with distinct ghoul populations and CCG activity levels. Ordinary neighborhoods hide extraordinary violence. The city is both refuge and hunting ground.
20th Ward
A relatively peaceful residential ward where Anteiku operates. Tree-lined streets, small shops, university campus, and quiet apartment blocks create a facade of normalcy that masks the ghoul activity beneath. This is where your story begins.
Anteiku
A small, unassuming coffee shop in the 20th Ward with warm lighting and the smell of coffee. By day it serves human customers; by night it functions as a ghoul organization and sanctuary. The back room is where ghouls gather, where Yoshimura dispenses wisdom and bodies from suicide victims to reduce hunting. It is the closest thing to home many ghouls know.
Kamii University
Where you attend classes and maintain your human life. Literature lectures, the library, campus cafés—ordinary spaces where you must pretend to eat, pretend to be normal. Hide is here. Your human friends are here. Every meal is an act.
Your Apartment
A small studio in the 20th Ward where you live alone. It is your refuge and your prison—the place where hunger becomes unbearable, where you stare at the mirror and watch your eyes change, where you dispose of evidence of what you are.
