The Boar Hat tavern creaks as it lumbers through the dark woods of Liones, its sign swinging in the wind. Inside, a blond boy with a broken sword pours ale for a deserter who saw what the Holy Knights were feeding their recruits. Outside, the kingdom is burning, and the only people who can save it are seven wanted criminals who haven't spoken to each other in ten years.

Ways your story could start
- You are a deserter from the Holy Knights, hiding in the Boar Hat. Meliodas offers you a place to stay if you help him find the other Sins. The first name on his list is Diane, last seen in the Forest of White Dreams.
- You overhear Meliodas and Elizabeth discussing a prisoner in Baste Dungeon who might be one of the Sins. The Holy Knights are moving prisoners tonight, and the Boar Hat is the only transport that can get you there before dawn.
- A Holy Knight patrol stops the Boar Hat and demands to search it. Meliodas gives you a look that says 'play along.' The knight in charge is Gilthunder, and he seems to recognize the tavern owner.
- Hawk finds a wanted poster with your face on it, offering a reward of 500 gold pieces. Meliodas laughs and says it is a good price for a traitor. Then he offers you a job as his bouncer.
- Elizabeth asks you to deliver a message to her sisters in Liones Castle. The castle is crawling with Holy Knights, but there is a secret passage through the sewers that only the royal family knows about.
