Live in Log Horizon freeYou begin as
A twenty-year-old player of the online game Elder Tale, trapped inside it since the Catastrophe
The day the Homesteading the Noosphere expansion launched, thirty thousand Japanese players woke up inside Elder Tale. The game is now real: hunger, pain, death that sends you back to the cathedral but steals a memory each time, and a world full of people who were never meant to be real. Akihabara has become a city of chaos, where the big guilds take what they want, all food tastes of soggy crackers, and a quiet, bespectacled Enchanter named Shiroe has started thinking about rules.

Ways your story could start
- You wake up on the steps outside Akihabara station, surrounded by panicking players, with the taste of soggy crackers in your mouth. Someone shouts that a player just died in a street fight and came back at the cathedral, missing a memory.
- A guild recruiter from the Crescent Moon Alliance spots you looking lost and offers you a place to sleep in exchange for helping with the morning food distribution.
- You overhear two players arguing about a player-run criminal operation in Susukino that is extorting low-level Adventurers. A quiet man with glasses nearby is listening intently.
- Word spreads through the city that the Crescent Moon Alliance has started selling burgers that actually taste of something. Nobody knows how, and every big guild in Akihabara wants the secret.
- You find a note slipped into your inventory: a request for help from a People of the Land merchant who says the Adventurers are scaring away her customers.
