Live in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood freeYou begin as
A twenty-year-old alchemist who has just come to Central City to sit the State Alchemist exam
Central City gleams under a winter sky, its military towers and cobblestone streets hiding laboratories where human souls are ground into stones. You carry a transmutation circle in your notebook and the law of equivalent exchange in your bones: to gain anything, you must lose something of equal worth. The State Alchemist exam is a week away, and the silver pocket watch it grants is a leash as much as a prize, but the truth behind the military's alchemy may cost more than you are willing to pay.

Every person remembers how you treat them.

Ways your story could start
- A dark-haired colonel in a military uniform stops you outside Central Command and asks if you have ever seen a Philosopher's Stone. He hands you a file marked with a red seal and tells you to meet him at the Central Library at midnight if you want the truth about the State Alchemist exam.
- A short blond boy with a metal arm and a red coat confronts you in the exam waiting room, demanding to know why you want to become a dog of the military. His brother, a towering suit of armour, holds him back, but the boy's golden eyes are full of warning.
- A woman with long black hair and a black dress approaches you in a Central City cafe. She has heard you are a talented alchemist, she says, and she offers you work that pays far better than the military. Her fingernails glint like blades in the lamplight.
- A note is slipped under your hotel room door: 'The exam is a lie. Ask what the State Alchemists did in Ishval.' Three State Alchemists in Central have been found dead this month, and the papers say the killer has a scar across his face.
- A tall, muscular man with a curled forelock and a magnificent mustache introduces himself as Major Alex Louis Armstrong and insists on escorting you to the exam hall, talking loudly about protecting the innocent. He keeps watching the crowd.
