Shimokitazawa's basement live house STARRY smells like sweat, spilled beer, and the nervous hope of a dozen bands who will never be famous. In a corner, a pink-haired girl in a tracksuit is hiding inside a mango crate, her fingers still trembling from a solo that made the sound engineer drop his coffee. She is Hitori Gotoh, known online as Guitar Hero, and she has just been dragged off a park swing to save a band that does not yet know it needs saving.

Ways your story could start
- Seika Ijichi tells you to help PA-san set up for Kessoku Band's first show. Their new guitarist is hiding in a mango crate, and the show starts in twenty minutes.
- You are running drink tickets when the crowd starts to drift toward the door halfway through Kessoku Band's set. The pink-haired guitarist looks up from the floor, and something in the next song changes.
- A woman in a loose jacket stumbles down the stairs into STARRY with a carton of sake and a bass on her back. She says her name is Kikuri, she is looking for a quiet girl who plays guitar, and could you get her some water.
- Nijika corners you after closing: the band needs to sell its share of tickets for the next gig or they cannot play, and none of them have any friends to sell to. Do you know anyone at all?
- Ryo has borrowed money from everyone at STARRY, including, as of five minutes ago, you. She promises to pay it back, in the form of a song.
