Delete your account

One screen, two taps, no email required and nobody to talk to. It is permanent and immediate: your identity goes, and what is left cannot be traced back to you.

From the app or the website

1. Sign in.
2. Open Settings from your profile menu.
3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
4. Confirm. That is the last step; nothing is queued for later.

What is deleted

Everything that identifies you, permanently and without a recovery window:

• Your login, your email address and your name
• Every Google or Apple identity connected to the account
• Every session, so you are signed out everywhere
• Your display name
• Your push notification subscriptions
• Your email and notification preferences
• The account id itself, which is replaced with a fresh random one

There is no undo and no grace period. Once the id is replaced there is nothing left that points back to you, so we could not restore the account even if you asked us to.

What is kept, and why

The story stays. Your characters, turns, worlds, memories, NPCs, recaps, feedback and billing history are kept — but under that fresh random id, with no name, no email and nothing that points back to you. They stop being your data and become an anonymous record we can learn from.

We do this because a player once deleted their account and took with them the only record of why they left. Anonymous data of this kind sits outside data-protection law precisely because it can no longer be traced to a person, which is the same reason it is safe to keep. Payment records are additionally retained where tax and accounting law requires it; those are held by the payment processor, not by us, and they contain no story content.

Cancel a subscription first

Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a subscription bought inside the app, because the store owns that billing relationship, not us. Cancel it there, before or after deleting here:

• iPhone and iPad: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions
• Android: Play Store → Payments and subscriptions

Subscriptions bought on the website can be cancelled in Settings, and are cancelled automatically when the account is deleted. Deletion does not trigger a refund; see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

If you cannot reach Settings

Email privacy@anyworldgame.com from the address on the account. We will verify it is you and delete it within 30 days, usually within 3 business days. This route exists for people who have lost access, not as the normal way to do it — the button above is faster and needs nobody's help.
